Silvretta Glacier (SILV) Contributing Station Information
Silvretta glacier is one of the WGMS reference glaciers. The glacier is located at roughly 3000 m asl with the second-longest glaciological records worldwide, ice thickness change (1938-), front variation (1956-) and mass-balance (1918-). Snow depth is measured twice per year in May and October on the glacier (1918-). This allows retrieval of winter accumulation.
