Observational Requirements
GCW is compiling a database of observational capabilities based on the current measurement systems (in situ and satellite), as well as observational requirements based on user needs. Some national agencies and international bodies have their own requirements. GCW will draw on these, update them as appropriate, and fill in gaps for properties of the cryosphere that are not addressed in those databases.
One starting point for GCW is the IGOS Cryosphere Theme Report (see the Documents section of this site), which provides perhaps the most comprehensive set of capabilities and requirements for the cryosphere. These are provided in table via these links:
