Jimunai station
Primary CryoNet Station Information

Jimunai station is located at the southern slope of Altai Mountains and it is bordered by Irtysh River to the north. In the strategy of Silk Road economic belt, by making use of the port advantages of Jeminay County, the cooperation is developed with Kazakhstan in west and Russia in north. Jimunai station has the typical and particular geographical unit of the northwest China, including the essential elements of cryosphere such as glacier, snow and frozen soil as well as oasis, wetland and desert, etc, and it is controlled by high latitude westerly circulation in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the natural testing area for developing a whole variety of scientific research of cold and arid region and promoting the comprehensive development of the subjects.
